HELICOPTER International is led by Elfan ap Rees, who has been Publisher/Editor since 1977 and before that spent 16 years involved in and writing about the helicopter industry. A rated helicopter pilot, who still flies almost every week, Elfan ap Rees is also the founder and Chairman of the International Helicopter Museum, President of Honour of the FAI Rotorcraft Commission, Vice President of the Helicopter Club of Great Britain, a Director of the Helicopter Foundation International, Helicopter Consultant for the Guinness Book of Records and the author of various books, papers etc. on rotary-wing subjects.
Managing Editor Claire ap Rees is the second generation involved in the business and has spent most of her working life immersed in helicopters. Her knowledge and expertise ensure that we publish a credible and professional magazine.
Chief Photographer Julie Appleford is now a familiar face in the helicopter industry, she has a proven track record in taking high class photographs and our Photographic Library contains well over 100,000 helicopter images, probably the largest rotary-wing collection in the world! This vast range means that we are always able to source the right picture for the right caption!.
Our Circulation Department is led by Louise Redman, who has several years experience of dealing efficiently with subscription enquiries. Our circulation department take the time to continuously check all available sources to ensure that our databases contain the latest up-to-date names and addresses.
Our Advertising Sales Manager, Sarah Fuller has a wealth of experience in marketing and advertising and is ready, willing and able to deal with enquiries from advertisers, both old and new, and is always able to offer the best advice to ensure that advertisers get the best deal for their budget.
The Research Department has been managed by John Phillips for over ten years. Here at HELICOPTER International we keep records detailing every helicopter ever built, including a history of each aircraft - first flights, owners, accidents etc. etc. This helps to ensure that our Directories contain the most accurate listings.
Over a combined period totalling almost 60 years this team has built up an impressive web of contacts and news sources, making HELICOPTER International the undisputed No.1 news journal in the helicopter industry.
